One of my patients, around 58 years, who had a good complexion, is now suffering from itching and rashes on the face and neck. When the rashes subside, it leaves a blackish pigmentation, which looks very unseemly. I referred the patient to a skin specialist, who said it is Lichen planus pigmentosum . She suggested laser treatment, but the patient was afraid of laser on the face.
It comes off and on and the lady is very much depressed and is avoiding facing anyone, lest they comment on her skin. The whole face has a smoky, patchy look. Anybody can help?
