Presenting complaints: An 11-year-old girl presented to the emergency department after a fall on an outstretched arm. The patient experienced immediate pain in the right shoulder. She reported being a junior javelin thrower. Radiology tests: X-ray revealed a non-displaced fracture extending from the midshaft to the proximal third of the right clavicle. Management: The fracture was managed conservatively for six weeks; clinical follow-up was recommended after a month.
The patient was restricted from all sporting activities for three months until full recovery. Post-management complications: The patient remained asymptomatic for 11 months. In the 12 th month, she presented to an orthoperiodic surgeon with severe pain, swelling, and shoulder function loss at the callus midline. An X-ray and computed tomography (CT) scan was carried out.
