Kommerell diverticula occurs in some anomalies of the aortic arch system. It usually refers to the bulbous configuration of the origin of an aberrant left subclavian artery in the setting of a right-sided aortic arch. However, it was originally described as a diverticular outpouching at the origin of an aberrant right subclavian artery with a left-sided aortic arch. When a patient with difficulty in breathing was taken an X- Ray chest PA view which is shown here, showed a round shaped lesion on the right side nearer the aortic arch.
The patient underwent CT scan chest and thanks to the radiologist who reported the finding which is very rare. The patient underwent angiogram and it confirmed the diagnosis. The patient’s complaint has nothing to with the finding and this is reported for its rarity.
