Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder known to involve skin barrier dysfunction, immune dysregulation, and microbiome imbalance; however, its presentation and management in patients with skin of color and atopic dermatitis (AD) remain less well understood. To address this gap, the study evaluated the efficacy and safety of lebrikizumab in 90 adults and adolescents with skin of color and moderate-to-severe AD. The study found that lebrikizumab treatment in adults and adolescents with moderate-to-severe AD achieved eczema area and severity index (EASI) 75 in 78.4% of patients, EASI 90 in 47.3%, and investigator’s global assessment (IGA) score of 0/1 in 54.1% at Week 24.

EASI 75 responses were higher in Fitzpatrick skin phototypes IV, V, and VI, at 62.9%, 88.2%, and 95.5%, respectively. Most patients (64.4%) with baseline hyperpigmentation showed improvement.…
