On Saturday, a 35-year-old man posed as a Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) inspector and allegedly demanded bribe from a doctor in Thane, has been arrested. Sub-inspector of this case reported that the man impersonated as a FDA inspector and met with one of the doctor from a well-known hospital in Mumbai on Friday and he accused the doctor of indulging in adulteration medicine. Following this accusation, he demanded bribe of Rs. 10000 from the doctor, for the doctor to continue his medical practice without any issues. Doctor on his part asked impersonator for his identification, which he failed to provide.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the man was a real estate agent. Police are also probing if he has cheated more doctors in a similar way and duped them in the past. He was booked under sections 420 (cheating) and 170 (personating a public servant) of the IPC. Source:…
