The Medical Education Department, Jaipur, has reduced the mandatory medical service tenure from five to two years for students completing postgraduate and super-specialty courses from the state government’s medical institutions. This means that medical students can now join other hospitals after serving the two-year bond; although the tenure has been reduced, the penalty amount of rupees 25 lakhs remains the same for failing to serve the bond tenure. The new orders will apply to students taking admissions for the 2022-2023 academic year.
After passing out, students can first work as senior residents, assistant professors, senior demonstrators, and then medical officers under the health directorate.
