There was a recent Court ruling in that entitled colleges to increase the admission seats once the course has been recognized by directly approaching state government, without the need for fresh MCI inspection for increase in seats. Following this, many colleges are going for increased number of mbbs seats from next academic year (150 to 250). This will be indeed good for short term, but will surely dilute already poor medical standards in our country. Are we going to suffer same fate that plagues dentists and engineers these days (seats >jobs).
