A 28-year-old woman from Kerala, India, died at the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after allegedly receiving the wrong injection. Five days prior, she had sought treatment for kidney stones at General Hospital, where one of the doctors had administered the injection. The patient felt unconscious, and her condition worsened, leading to her transfer to the medical college hospital.

Her family accused the doctor of medical negligence, and based on a complaint from her husband, police registered a case against the doctor under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita (BNS), which pertains to acts endangering life or personal safety.
