Incidence of cancer cervix is common among rural women than urbanites. The reason being as per my observational study from 1985 onwards is poor hygiene during the menstrual period by the womenfolk in villages. I have written an article on the same in the  Science section of The Indian  Express in the 1990s. I have made out how many diseases can be prevented by using sanitary napkins. I have advised all my women patients to use napkins and as per my analysis, no one in my care developed cancer cervix at any point in time.
