It is evident that minoxidil is an antihypertensive vasodilator agent and often used for the treatment of androgenic alopecia. However, there is less evidence for the potential of minoxidil which can benefit the patients with rare diseases of elastin insufficiency such as Williams Beuren syndrome and ancestral supravalvar aortic stenosis syndrome as well as aging-related elastin loss.
