Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a rare malignancy. Effective and proper choice of treatment increases the survival rates. The current article describes the clinical practice guidelines stated by the European Society for Medical Oncology for Nasopharyngeal cancer. NPC is commonly misdiagnosed and poorly understood because of the location of the affected area. The lesion in NPC is often situated in a relatively large and inert space where only air and mucus are in transit.

NPC presents with few primary symptoms, being silent for a long time. Diagnosis The definitive diagnosis of the primary nasopharyngeal tumor is made by endoscopic guided biopsy. The neck nodes are often the first disease sign in patients.
