The National Medical Commission (NMC) has called on all medical colleges and healthcare facilities to promptly implement recent Supreme Court directives aimed at controlling the entry of stray dogs into public spaces, in response to the growing number of dog-bite cases across India. This instruction follows a suo motu petition heard by the Supreme Court, which highlighted the risks posed to children and the general public and ordered urgent safeguards for institutions such as hospitals, educational campuses, sports venues, bus terminals, and railway stations.
