Obesity Canada has released new guidelines for managing obesity in children, emphasizing a patient-centered approach and shared decision-making among children, their families, and healthcare providers (HCPs). The guidelines were developed based on three systematic reviews and meta-analyses of behavioral, psychological, pharmacological, and surgical interventions. Importantly, HCPs, caregivers, and individuals living with obesity were involved in the development process to ensure the guidelines were relevant and practical. The guidelines include ten recommendations and nine good practice statements.
