In a rigorous Phase IIb clinical trial with a large group of real patients for 96 weeks two injectable forms of drug Cabetogravir and Rilpivirine showed promising result in reducing frequency of medication in HIV patients. A monthly or bimonthly administration of this drug combination can keep a significant and sustainable check on disease progression compared to taking hundreds of pills in that period. In spite of considerable progress in the diagnosis and treatment for HIV, the incidence of the infection kept on rising.
One of the reasons behind this catastrophe is the present complicated treatment regime followed by HIV patients.
