I have already posted an article on the importance of anatomy of orbit. The medial wall of orbit which is formed by frontal process of maxilla crust of lacrimal bone. Orbital plate of ethmoid separating it from ethmoid air sinus. Body of sphenoid bounded behind by tiny piece of bone which lies at apex of orbit. Orbital process of palatine bone medial wall of orbit is the weakest part of orbit.

So, in case of blow out orbital fracture lies 1 and 3 mm medial to posterior part of maxilla medial palp. Once we reach anterior lacrimal crustal ligament it is attached to anterior lacrimal crust. This is a very important landmark in case of sac surgery. Once we reach anterior lacrimal crust we are sure to find medial palpebral ligament once we cut the ligament we are in lacrimal fossa these factors make the medial wall of orbit important from ophthalmic point of view.
