Diabetes is one of the leading global health concerns of the 21 st century. Approximately 642 million people with an approximate estimation of 1 in 11 adults, will have diabetes by 2040. Insulin therapy is an integral component in the management of type 2 diabetes. In spite of the established advantages of insulin therapy, there are significant barriers to its use.
Hence, there is a need to understand these barriers and address them. This article provides insight into the current challenges faced while administering insulin and also discusses the possible solution to these challenges.
