The objective of this study is to understand why statins are underutilized across various subgroups of high-risk patients. Those with DM were less likely to receive statins than those with coronary conditions. Advanced age, female sex, and non-cardiac conditions predicted less statin utilization. Keep an eye on elderly female patients, with diabetes, and non-cardiac conditions.
