Doctors and nurses, an important section of our society, have challenging work environments. Their health, therefore, is valuable because they themselves must be in a healthy state to perform their tasks well. However, a sedentary lifestyle along with high-stress levels, lack of sufficient rest and irregular eating habits make doctors and nurses highly vulnerable to cardiovascular diseases (CVD). It found in a cross-sectional study that was conducted among doctors and nurses (aged between 18 and 65 years) of age working at a tertiary care Medical College Hospital in Tamil Nadu that:   The data clearly shows that the prevalence of critical risk factors (including diabetes, hypertension, overweight, and obesity) is high among doctors and nurses and hence, is a cause for concern.
