Often young adults tend to disregard certain health screening tests for cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, believing that they are not essential for them. However, a recent study has found that stroke hospitalization rates for younger adults have increased substantially. This article outlines these research findings and discusses the need for screening risk factors in such patients. While stroke mortality rates have decreased substantially in the past 2 decades, the trend has been primarily limited to older adults.
