Strange but true, soldiers are respected only during a war, later, almost forgotten. Similarly, doctors are respected only during a pandemic, later, almost neglected. Even educated people have a vague idea about the role of an Anaesthesiologist.
They still believe that the patients are made to inhale chloroform and are put to sleep during surgery, that's all- so simple !! But the occurrence of Covid19 made all the difference - now people know that Anaesthesiologist is the only person who can make them breathe when they're unable to breathe and an Anaesthesiologist is the only person who weans him off the ventilator when his immunity improves.
