Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have often been considered as one of the major innovative Higher Education strategies. But, their application in the teaching of clinical disciplines has been very limited. Implant dentistry is one of the most recent and rapidly developing clinical subjects within Oral Health Sciences which greatly lacks flexible, quality-assured and unbiased education. Thus, in this regard new self-regulated learning strategies could potentially be a helpful tool for improving knowledge-based information in this discipline.
