An 18-year-old female softball player presented to the clinic with pain in the left shoulder. She reported that this pain started last year with painful "catching" in the subscapular region, which improved over the summer and reoccurred in winter. She frequently experienced pain during the night. She denied radicular pain in the arms, dysesthesias, weakness, and bladder changes. History Medical and surgical history includes left thumb fracture and right lower extremity fracture with open reduction and internal fixation.
Physical examination The patient appeared healthy with no acute distress.
