The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has raised objections to the information submitted by Dr Pravin Shingare, chief of the directorate of medical education and research (DMER), to the Medical Council of India (MCI) on the leaves available to resident doctors. In a letter to the medical education minister Vinod Tawde on Thursday, the association says that the letter says that the central residency scheme (CRS) allows 30 days leave to junior residents. "The DMER is referring to leave as per CRS.
But the same scheme restricts the total number of working hours of residents to 48 per week, which is not followed," they said.
