Secukinumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that selectively neutralizes IL-17A involved in the pathogenesis of psoriatic disease, has demonstrated sustained long-term efficacy with a favorable safety profile in various psoriatic disease manifestations. However, in real-world settings, secukinumab is prescribed for patients with chronic plaque psoriasis who may have clinical features different than those seen in controlled clinical trials.
