A strange patient, lady with short stature, lean looking and girlish look was killing my nerves. She stated she needs all her teeth to be removed and denture made. Furthermore, she described her neighbor’s denture is very pretty and she too desired to look like her. On examination, she had pretty feminine perfect dentition with 28 teeth. I stressed she had lovely teeth and considering her young age of 20s, she must drop the idea of teeth removal and complete denture.
She was adamant and stern and ended up with extraction of all her teeth. The patient is innocent in her claim for treatment or suspicious is doubtful. It has been many years this event occurred and forgotten. I hope such and similar issues doesn't happen. We getting legal at all times isn’t okay or professionalistic and service to humanity has lost its meaning.
