As per news report, in Kolkata hospital notice has been issued that medical representatives can visit hospital once a week for 3 hours after paying Rs 350/- after that Rs 100/- for every hour. The basis for this notice is to promote prescribing of generic drugs which is recommended by MCI. Pharmaceuticals have opposed it but a group of doctors who are against it opined that for busy doctors updating by medical representatives is essential and useful.
