After a long gestation period of over 20-25 years in one speciality, it doesn't seem lucrative in case of earnings name and fame. Can the specialist doctor switch over to the feasible speciality for convenience? Eg: one of my friend changed from orthopaedic to anaesthesia in USA after working for a period of 10-15 years in one speciality. Another friend reached rank of professor of anaesthesia. He completed his PGDCC in cardiology and wants to convert as a cardiologist, but it was not possible due to his occupied position.
