In our busy life in modern society, stress has become a natural part of our life. As one poet had rightly lamented ' we don't have time to stand and stare.'  It is believed that our passions and emotions are intimately related to our health and disease. Busy jobs, stiff compeition, tight finances, busy life, conflict at work, impending examinations or interviews, marital problems, family breakdowns, widowhood, bereavement or serious sickness in the family are some of the causes that lead to stress and its ill effects.

We cannot remove all the stress from our lives and as such stress is not always harmful at certain level..
