Only Problem complained by some surgeons is inadequate relaxation when compared with general Anesthesia. Why? In General Anesthesia— Muscle relaxants block Neuromuscular junctions, so muscles do not contract on mechanical and electrical stimulation, unless the action of muscle relaxant vanes off. In Spinal Anesthesia For Spine Surgeries- 1) Unlike in Abdominal Surgeries, Spinal muscles are close and need to be manipulated much harder than in abdominal surgeries, so they are directly stimulated mechanical stimulation .
2) Electro cautery or Diathermy frequently touches the muscles and direct electrical stimulation occurs, frequently 3) Undue fear of Anesthesiologists, reducing the Anaesthetic and Adjuvant doses clonidine, dexmedetomidine, opioids etc 4) Spinal Anesthesia for spine Surgeries doesn’t suit for very slow surgeons. Max duration should not exceed 3-4 hours. If these are kept…
