A lethal blend of poor law enforcement and lack of timely emergency medical care makes India the world’s road death capital. Most of the victims do not reach to the emergency room to avail the treatment, as nobody want to take the hassle of bringing an accident victim to emergency care of any hospital. They also fear of being captive by the hospital to pay the bill on behalf of the accident victim. A landmark judgement by Supreme Court of India might change the whole scenario. Annual social loss due to these accidents is 3% of GDP in India.

Timely help can save about 50% of the lives. If proper medical care is provided to victims within an hour after the accident, the chances of victims' survival will be the highest.
