Changes in taste perception, which may influence appetite and eating behavior, could be associated with weight management outcomes in individuals with obesity treated with glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) or dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP)/GLP-1 RAs. To explore this association, a study evaluated self-reported taste perception changes and appetite-related outcomes in 411 adults with obesity (69.6% female) treated with GLP-1 RAs under real-world conditions.

The study found that GLP-1 RA therapy was associated with significant BMI reductions (15.5–17.6%) and improvements in appetite and satiety.
