A strike is a form of protest shown by refusal to perform duties to achieve predefined objectives which may include improvements in working conditions, ensure personal security and safety or financial gains etc. Like any other profession, it is true for medical profession also. But, from the society point of view, the doctors are valued more than ordinary beings. The doctors are covered by ESMA ( the essential services maintenance act) which prohibit them from going on strike and its violation is punishable.
Strike is the last option to get demands accepted. With the passage of time, the expectations of patients from the doctors go on changing which have influenced the scenario adversely. What is your opinion about whether doctors should go on strike or not? Kindly share.
