I recently attended a conference at one of India's leading medical institutions. I was very disappointed when I saw how poorly informed most doctors were - not just the ones in the audience, but the professors who taught at this premier medical college as well. Most doctors rarely read medical journals, and the majority use medical conferences as a means of updating themselves. Now we know that this is a terrible way of keeping updated. Most speakers are of poor quality.
Their presentations consist of slides which have been created by their juniors, and it often seems like they are seeing them for the first time at the conference.
