Zanidatamab combined with chemotherapy , with or without tislelizumab, has shown potential survival benefits for patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2βpositive (HER2-positive) metastatic or locally advanced unresectable gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. To evaluate its effectiveness compared with standard therapy, a study assessed outcomes of zanidatamab-based regimens versus trastuzumab plus chemotherapy in 914 patients with HER2-positive gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma.
The study found that patients treated with zanidatamab had longer periods without disease progression than those who received trastuzumab plus chemotherapy (median 12.4 months vs 8.1 months). Overall survival was longest with zanidatamab combined with chemotherapy and tislelizumab (median 26.4 months vs 19.2 months), with a smaller improvement also seen with zanidatamab plus chemotherapy alone (24.4β¦
