Case presentation A 57-year-old male truck driver was admitted to the emergency department with a twenty-minute episode of diaphoresis and chest pain. The pain was in the center of the chest, crushing in nature and radiating to the left arm. The pain subsided following an oral dose of 300 mg aspirin and sublingual 800 mcg glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) spray. History The man smoked 20 cigarettes daily but was unaware of any other cardiovascular risk. Examination His appearance and speech were normal. There were no heart murmurs present on cardiac auscultation.
