A 48-year-old male presents to the ED with non-specific abdominal pain for four days, accompanied by nausea and vomiting for one  day. He stated that the pain developed suddenly in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen and worsened with movement. The patient added that the pain was spreading to the mid-abdomen. History The patient had a significant medical history of hypothyroidism and hypoalbuminemia secondary to malnutrition. The patient denied prior abdominal surgeries.

Socially, he used to smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day and drank alcohol occasionally. No medical conditions were present in his family. The patient had been evaluated and treated for abdominal complaints in the past.
