Thrombocytopenia Associated Multiple-organ Failure (TAMOF) in children is a rare fatal thrombotic microangiopathic disorder that has an association with diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA). A high degree of suspicion is required to identify this condition. This article reports a case of adolescent presented with severe DKA, who subsequently developed severe thrombocytopenia and intrinsic renal failure. Case presentation An 11-year old boy presented with five days history of vomiting, pain in abdomen, and altered sensorium from last one day.
He had a two-year history of type 1 diabetes mellitus with poor control. Apart from this, the patient did not have any significant medical and family history.
