In India, 20-30% of the people suffer from allergic rhinitis and 15% of these patients develop asthma. Thus, appropriate diagnosis and treatment of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis are essential to prevent the development of comorbidities such as asthma, sinusitis, otitis media, atopic dermatitis, conjunctivitis and nasal polyps. Guidelines of The British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) will be useful for physicians for management of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis.
