Case presentation A 75-year-old male presented to a clinic with a 3-week history of non-painful palate discoloration. The lesion reportedly developed spontaneously beneath the patient’s dentures and further extended toward the mucosa of the soft palate. Social history The patient had no prior history of nicotine or alcohol use. Physical examination On physical examination, the patient had slightly elevated, bluish-brown lesions on the palatal mucosa with irregular boundaries and no induration ( Fig. 1 ).

Histopathological examination A histopathological examination of the lesion was carried out by extracting samples from the lesion.
