The impact of abnormal adrenal hormonal levels on a person’s health has led to increased research into developing improved ways to monitor their levels. The current methods to measure stress hormones involve analyzing blood samples that only evaluate their concentrations at a single time point during the day; these fail to account for variations in their concentrations throughout the day. Now a team of researchers from England has developed a wearable device that can track a person’s adrenal steroid hormone levels throughout the day.

The device is worn around the waist, collects hormone samples from subcutaneous tissues every 20 minutes, and analyzes them through LC-MS.
