A 38-year-old Asian woman presented with a 2-month history of generalized muscular aches and weakness, in addition to feelings of pins and needles in her hands. She complained of having difficulties standing up from a squatting position. The feeling of ‘pins and needles’ affected the tips of her fingers and could sometimes be felt around the mouth. The patient was not on any medications.
