A 14-year-old male was presented to a hospital with complaints of respiratory distress for six hours. Medical history The patient had a medical history of long-standing mild persistent asthma. The patient reported intermittent improvement in his symptoms with albuterol . A day before this presentation, the patient reported having a new episode of fatigue and myalgia following his band practice session.
On the same evening, he reported developing a cough, congestion, emesis, difficulty in breathing, and a temperature of 104°F. To get relief, the patient had inhaled albuterol twice before arriving at the hospital with no improvement in his symptoms.
