Case presentation A 32-year-old female presented to an emergency care clinic with a sore throat, subjective fever, and abnormal bruising. Patient’s clinical manifestations The patient reported a gradual worsening of her sore throat over a period of approximately five days. The patient denied any other symptoms, such as cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, jaw stiffness, or changes in her voice. She reported a few bruises that were small in size, scattered, and painless.
The patient denied any history of significant injury and active medical problems; however, she reported having such bruises once earlier during her childhood, for which she was hospitalized.
