A malignant progression of Actinic Keratosis to squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) has been reported to occur with increased frequency among albinos. A Recent study reported that AKs were also present in 3-6% of men aged between 40–49 years. Actinic keratosis (synonymous with solar keratosis) are keratotic lesions occurring on a chronically light-exposed adult skin. The current article describes the recommendations stated by the British Association of dermatologists, 2017 for the management of Actinic Keratosis.

Actinic keratosis is generally considered to be premalignant lesions with low individual potential for invasive malignancy and potential for spontaneous regression.
