A 64-year-old female presented to an outpatient clinic with a 6-month history of mild but persistent abdominal discomfort. Patient history The abdominal discomfort experienced by the patient was observed to be intermittent and mainly involved the right iliac fossa of the patient. The abdominal discomfort had no relation with the bowel movements or eating. The patient reported reduced appetite and had lost about 5 kg of weight.
The intensity of the abdominal pain worsened over time and was present on most days The abdominal pain was mainly associated with an urge to pass a motion, usually with some diarrhea.
