A 26-year-old female patient presented to a rheumatology clinic with complaints of submandibular pain for several weeks. Medical History The patient was reportedly well until three months earlier when the patient started to develop a dry mouth and increased thirst. Two weeks later, the patient developed submental swelling associated with local tenderness, and pain on swallowing decreased appetite Four weeks after the onset of the above symptoms, the patient saw a physician who prescribed cephalexin; however, the condition of the patient did not improve.

In the next two weeks, the patient developed pain in both her ears.
