The application of radiopharmaceuticals in medico imaging along with PET and CT has increased surprisingly. This article is about a specific use of 18 F labeled fluoro-2-deoxyglucose ( 18 F-FDG) in combination with PET/CT for the oral and maxillofacial imaging. In this technique, an isotope or radiolabeled carrier molecule is injected into patient intravenously which gets distributed in different tissues and emits positrons or positively charged electron.
