A recent study reports that Aspirin can significantly reduce the possibility of a fatal heart attack or stroke in diabetic patients. Conversely, this study also reports that taking an Aspirin daily can increase the predisposition to non-fatal heart ailments. While the use of Aspirin as a blood thinner is well documented, this study sheds some light on its use as a preventive measure in diabetic patients with heart ailments but no record of heart attacks.
