Case presentation A two-year-old infant was presented at the emergency department with respiratory distress. The infant did not have a fever and any medical or family history of respiratory symptoms or dysphagia. The infant demonstrated repeated attacks of wheezing and cough for a month before presentation. His coughing was not accompanied by any dysphagia or drooling. He was given steroids and antibiotics for a month for suspected asthma.

He was brought to the emergency when his condition worsened with the appearance of dyspnea. Physical examination: Temperature - 37.5°C Heart rate - 130 beats per minute Oxygen saturation - 93% No sign of malnutrition or dehydration Pulmonary examination: Scattered snoring, suprasternal recession, and diffuse wheeze were observed.
