A 21-year-old woman recently experienced nonspecific chest pain and shortness of breath. Investigations Medical history: Migraine headaches Physical examination: Unremarkable Electrocardiography: Normal sinus rhythm with left atrial enlargement and non-specific ST-T changes Transesophageal echocardiography: Homogenous echogenic mass in the anterolateral wall of the left ventricle Cardiac CT scan (Fig 1): Mass was not calcified and did not involve any major coronary arterial branches directly.

Fig 1: CT image demonstrates a well-circumscribed myocardial mass in the left ventricle with no calcification. Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography: Mild, nonspecific increased fluorodeoxyglucose activity in the cardiac mass Source: Cardiovascular Imaging Case Reports *This Case Challenge is from the Editorial Team of Docplexus and is meant for educational purposes only.
